Was born in Lima – Peru on October 12, 1968, a week after the military took down the president and the democracy. Juan Velasco Alvarado started a dictator military government that lasted for 12 years, ruining the country.

He grew up surrounded by surfing culture at the beach on summers, to the country side on winters, making him become an outdoors person.

At age 20, he moved to Hawaii in pursue of his surfing dreams. At 25 moved back from Hawaii to Peru where he graduated from business school with an MBA. After 7 years in Peru, working as a vice-president for an insurance broker, he realized that his place to live was somewhere on the tropics, no more cold weather, no more wearing tie and suit, so he started a research on a possible country with tropical weather, nothing extreme, some decent surf, democracy, economic stability, no social issues and safeness to race his 2 daughters. Yes I know, sounds to good to exist, but after visiting some countries, he and his wife Andrea landed in Costa Rica and realized that this was the place where they wanted to be, finally they had found their little paradise in Playa Negra, where they moved in 2001 with their 2 daughters Maia and Cloe.
